SPAIN, León. Alfonso IX, 1188-1230. Dinero (Silver, 19 mm, 0.74 g, 8 h). LEONIS Four lion heads, separated by two palm trees. Rev. ADEFONSVS Cross pattée. Bautista 202. Rare. Slightly rough and very minor edge chipping, otherwise, very fine.


This rare issue is sometimes attributed to Alfonso VII (1126-1157), cf. Imperatrix A7, 39.5.
